We have created the Water Damage Prevention Association of Canada (PREVCAN) to assist interested stakeholders in other provinces in creating their own provincial associations and replicate PREVDEQ’s achievements in their respective regions. The PREVCAN wants to optimize the user and installer experience by creating discussions with all the different actors in the industry
One of the very important objectives of the PREVCAN is to make sure that all manufacturers have their product certified by the independent laboratory CIMEQ through an intense product testing and certification process required before being recognized by the PREVCAN and insurance company members.
We provide assistance to manufacturers to help them comply with the markets standards and requirements of the certification with a list of requirements. Products are tested through an external certification entity to make sure they are in alliance with insurance companies risk management and loss control recommendation to make an impact on the alarming increases in deductibles and premiums from insurance companies because of water damage and claims.
We provide information and documentation to help users, installers, manufacturers and insurers better understand the new market of water leak prevention systems.
